Miguel Herrán is a Spanish actor, best known for portraying Aníbal “Río” Cortés in Money Heist and Christian Varela Expósito in the Netflix series Élite. He earned a 2016 Goya Award for Best New Actor for his role in the film Nothing in Return. Born on April 25, 1996 in Málaga, Málaga, Andalucía, Spain, to parents Belen De La-Herran and Manuel Herrán, he grew up in the Madrid. He studied acting at the William Layton Laboratory. He has been in a relationship with Catalan actress and voiceover artist, Úrsula Corberó.
